Trust comes in many different forms, but one thing remains true for much of what we trust: we tend to trust family and friends more than anything else.  I want to focus in on trust as it relates to the products and services we buy.  Who can you trust?

According to this survey, we trust Word of Mouth (WOM) and Consumer Opinions posted online, but it’s even better if we know the person posting online. What about the times we do not have this level of connection; how do we know if we can trust what we hear, see, and read?

The FTC is implementing new rules that should have an impact on the trust we put in advertising that uses endorsements and testimonials.  You can read more on the FTC website, but their opening remark is this: “The Federal Trade Commission today announced that it has approved final revisions to the guidance it gives to advertisers on how to keep their endorsement and testimonial ads in line with the FTC Act”. Trust is not easily earned outside of your family.  It can take years of knowing someone before we really trust them.  But is there a way to fast-forward that trust?  Usually we will give a level of trust to someone, if we know that they are trusted by someone we already trust.

This is a key concept in the way we’re building MyClicknation.  We want you to feel comfortable in trusting us and referring us to others. The initial members of MyClicknation are friends and family of the team that is starting the company.  When you learn about us, you’ll most likely be hearing it from someone who has already joined the company or directly from a member of our management team. I am hopeful that those who follow this blog (and our company blog) will feel that they already know us in some way.

If you read about this history of MyClicknation through the blog and look into the background of the management and advisory team, you will find that we are trustworthy individuals.  Each of us has proved in the business world and in our personal life to be trustworthy.  Our company is built on a foundation of trust and openness.

The worry is gone, the turkey (and leftovers) are done and now things begin to return to normal.  I know it’s a few days late, but I want to step back and write about things I am thankful for…

So many things.  First is family; when you have that, everything thing else just falls into place.  As I write, my little girl is in “make-believe-land”.  You remember that place most all of us went to when we were kids. It’s a wonderful place where anything is possible.  If we allow ourselves to return to that place and dream, the world is a better place.

Dreams do come true, it’s happened to me more than once.  On a personal note, having a wonderful family is a dream come true; most every day I get to experience something new.  Having watched 3 children grow up into awesome young adults is a blessing. Getting to do it all over again with a three-year-old, when I’m 48…WOW!  A lovely wife and great children; I am blessed!

On the business side, I am happy to report that we are making great progress.  We have a great team in place and are getting things done.  Thousands of people will be blessed as a result of the business we are building.  That is a blessing to me, something I have been dreaming about for a long time.  I am thankful for the help I continue to get from Charles, Steve, Brant, and Doug.  You guys are awesome. I’ve been worried and those who know me know that is not my nature.  I can typically stay positive and not let things get to me.  Those who know me also know that I have been “over the top” excited about MyClicknation for a some time.  I continue to be excited; however, I stress about being able to tell the story well enough for all of you to understand it.  I have help in putting the message together, but at the end of the day I’m still the one who has to make it happen.

MyClicknation will be a way for MOST ANYONE to make some extra money. If done right, some people will make a lot of money. Honestly (as I’ve said before) I can’t find a reason why anyone would not want to participate; it’s that simple and that good.

If I told you that there is something we all have in abundance that is highly desired and very valuable, would you be interested enough to learn more?  If so, then stay with me through the launch!  If you will take a look at the people behind MyClicknation, you will see that we are not a group of fly-by-night opportunity seekers.  We are all proven professionals in our field.  I assure you that each of us sincerely wants to create value for you. The reason I came up with the idea behind MyClicknation (and what drives me to constantly seek ways to improve on the concept) is to provide a way for anyone to make some extra money.  With such a grand desire, why worry?

I worry because I know that some will look at what we are doing and try to cast doubt into people’s eyes.  I worry because some will look at how we distribute our profits to our “rockstar” level members and take issue with it.  I worry because some people will simply not believe that what we are saying is true.   I worry about keeping our team strong and fresh to keep the vision growing and finding even more ways to benefit our membership.  My worries are for your benefit.  If I don’t worry, I may miss something.  THAT worries me.

One step ahead of worry is Thankfulness.  God has blessed me with all the things necessary to accomplish my goals.  Admittedly, I sometimes allow worry to creep into my thoughts, but always find a way to get back on track.  I have put everything on the line for this company.  My finances and my time have been totally dedicated to making MyClicknation happen.  I am blessed and thankful for the opportunity.  You, too, will be blessed and thankful if you take advantage of your opportunities.

Warning - I am seeing this type of thing more and more on Facebook.  You need to protect yourself.  BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR FACEBOOK ACCOUNT.  KNOW THAT EVERY TIME YOU INSTALL AN APP, YOU GIVE ACCESS TO ALL YOUR INFORMATION, INCLUDING ACCESS TO YOUR FRIENDS.  The “bad guys” are getting more and more creative. Keep your eyes open for things that just “don’t look right” and protect your Facebook account! Be wary, be alert, and DON’T Click if you’re not sure!

Sometimes we like them, sometimes we don’t.  We all experience change in our lives, some of it is difficult and some easy.  Some changes are forever and some for a short period of time.  My wife recently had surgery and has to take it easy for a few weeks, this means she cannot pickup our 3 year old daughter as she exceeds the 10 lb limit her doctor put on her. Talk about change!  Thank God this is one of those “short period of time” changes.  It does make you stop and pause… what if this change were not temporary?  What would I do?  Family would help, but not having my wife to take care of our daughter would REALLY change things.  I appreciate you Cindy and I love you!

This is a good time to thank everyone that has helped me throughout the changes in my life, especially for helping my children.  I am so blessed to have 4 good, honest, loving, smart, beautiful and healthy children.  THANK YOU TO ALL THAT HAVE HELPED MAKE THIS POSSIBLE.

Change is a part of our daily lives.  This blog entry was to be about change, change that I personally have experienced.  More specifically, the changes associated with having to step up to the needs of taking care of things due to my wife’s surgery. But then I remembered that today is Veterans Day.

I sat behind a lady and her young son at Church this past Sunday.  During the service we recognized any Veteran that was among us.  The brave men and women stood while we gave them a round of applause.  I notice the young man in front of me wrap his arm around his mother and give her a hug.  A bit later I overheard part of a conversation the lady had with a man sitting near her.  Her husband is currently deployed.  I then understood the hug the son gave his mom when we recognized the Veterans.  I’m sure it was a sad moment for them both as well as a proud moment.  They miss him and worry about him.

As we recognize those men and women that have and continue to serve in the military today, I think about the change they have or are experiencing.  My current changes suddenly seem trivial.  Some of the change created by their service is short term and all too often it long term.   Many have given all…

We cannot thank these people enough.  Regardless of if we agree with the reasons behind where they serve, they choose to serve regardless of their personal opinions.  They go and do as commanded.  Some may not agree with the “why” behind where our men and women are serving but let’s not let that stand in the way of today.  If it were not for the service of those in the past we would not have the freedom to express how we feel today.  Let’s thank God and the brave men and women that have served, for the freedom we have today and those that are serving now, for the freedom we will have tomorrow.

What is a “normal” Monday? I, like many people, would rather sleep until 10 AM on Mondays, but I had a meeting in Little Rock with an “Arkansas Business” reporter, so sleeping in was not an option.  I did leave my house about 15 minutes later than normal and that’s where things started changing into a not so normal Monday…

The first thing I noticed about today was that the traffic between Conway and Little Rock was almost perfect.  Perhaps it was because I left 15 minutes later than normal.  If so, I’ll leave 15 minutes later every day!  The relatively leisurely drive gave me some time to think; time to put my brain to work.

Today is not normal in another way; something very special to me is arriving.  Today we breathe life into something that could forever change how marketing is done.  Today our website comes online for testing.  Months of hard work and countless hours of planning become reality.

My children will finally have cause to “believe me”.  They have heard me talk too long about what was coming; now it will be here.  A big “thank you” to all of my family for their patience and sacrifice over the past months.  It has been difficult, but the reward will be worth it.

This has been a difficult process, mainly because we are bootstrapping the build-out of the company with a extremely small budget and mostly part-time employees doing the work.  I am very grateful for the investors who have made this possible.  I will do all that I can to make sure you are rewarded for your faith in me.   I thank God for all the help sent my way!

When the idea for the business first came to me, I could not think of ANY reason why someone would not become a member.  Our challenge is to explain it so that everyone can understand it.  I have a goal of 10 million members!  This is quite grand, but extremely doable.  Back in 1999, a company called “AllAdvantage” grew to 10 million members in just 18 months.  I want to top their numbers!

I honestly don’t know why anyone would not join our cause.  Only the small percentage of people who already have all the money they need or have “people” to take care of them, should not care.   We are creating a fantastic opportunity for you to have some say into what information about you is bought and sold, plus you can earn a few extra bucks!

Today we are one step closer to the goal.  I can’t wait!

Fortune High Tech Marketing (FTHM) independent reps are hitting my daughter’s college hard.  They are pushing to get students and other young people to attend an “opportunity meeting”.  Be warned… if these meetings are like others I have attended it will be hard to say “no”.  Before you know it, you will be hundreds of dollars poorer and twisting arms to get all of your friends to a meeting just like you  attended.  PLEASE ask yourself – Do you NEED FTHM products and are you getting a good deal on them?

It is with some trepidation that I write this blog entry.  REMEMBER – the whole reason I decided to start this company was because of what happened to a friend of mine with FTHM.  This is NOT an attempt to trash FTHM.  FTHM, just like any other opportunity, is right for some people, but not for others.  My beef is with those people who take hundreds of dollars from people knowing that there is no chance of success.

I have shared my business idea with some of my daughter’s friends at school as well as many of my friends and relatives.  I get all kinds of responses, but way too many ask “is this a scam or a pyramid scheme”?  I just want to say the answer is a big NO!  The reason behind my business is to provide a REAL opportunity to everyone.

According to Wikipedia “A pyramid scheme is a non-sustainable business model that involves the exchange of money primarily for enrolling other people into the scheme, often without any product or service being delivered.  Pyramid schemes are illegal in many countries, including the United States”. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyramid_scheme

Wikipedia defines SCAM as “A confidence trick or confidence game (also known as a bunko, con, flim flam, gaffle, grift, hustle, scam, scheme, or swindle) is an attempt to defraud a person or group by gaining their confidence. The victim is known as the mark, and any accomplices are known as shills”.

Our business is neither of these.  Another question I have asked myself is “will my company be a Multi-level marketing (MLM) company”, like FTHM.  I believe the answer to this is “no” as well.  We don’t require our members to sell products every month to get paid.  As a matter of fact, we actually will be acting as an agent for our members, representing them to the marketing community, helping our members make money and get better deals.  You will even be able to join for FREE!  To be very open, we will have a paid version that offers much greater value, but we will still offer the FREE version.

You have value to the marketing communities.  We will exist to help you get Your Fair Share.  We will scam no one!  We are creating a way for almost everyone to make some extra money! How COOL is that?!
