What is the cost?

Yesterday I took most of the day off to help my daughter move.  She is a college student at Arkansas Tech working toward becoming a RN and then later after working as a traveling nurse for a while, become an APN.  I am proud of her, as I am of all my children.  God has blessed me in many ways.

Those of you that have or know of people that have started a business know that a startup is a crazy paced life.  Taking a day away from the startup for any reason is costly, its time you have to make up because no one will do the work if you don’t.  So what was the cost of taking a day away from the startup to help my daughter?  A LOT, but nowhere near the cost of not being there for my daughter.  I have 4 children, ages 3, 16, 19 and 21.  Seems like only yesterday my 21 year old was just a baby…  I guess the bottom line is this; BE THERE!  Not being there simply costs too much!

What about the cost of doing a startup when it comes to your family?  We tend to under estimate this cost.  I can tell you that for me, I am ALL-IN.  My finances, my time, my attention – it’s all on the line.  I appreciate the support I get at home.  I know its hard.

The cost for everything always seems to be more than expected.  The first conversation I had with an Attorney about my business idea cost me over $600.00.  I was shocked when I got the bill.  It cost me $600.00 just to explain my idea to this guy.  I had no idea the meter was running during the conversation.  This is bad when you like to talk, as I do.  At the time and perhaps even somewhat now, I was Ignorance on Fire.  I am very passionate about the business and the things I don’t know end up costing me something.

I did get a GREAT DEAL on the tee-shirts I bought to help promote the startup.  You can see a picture of them in an earlier blog post.  My new good friends at allprint in Conway Arkansas did a great job.  Call them if you need promotional items.  501-328-5597.

Today I do my video shoot for the website.  I’ve never thought of myself as good in front of a camera.  I am a good presenter, but the video camera just puts a different spin on things.  Hopefully Brant and Doug with StationX (www.stationx.tv) can make me comfortable and help bring out the passion I have for this effort.

I am so excited to tell the world about this business.  It is a great opportunity for everyone to make some extra cash.  It almost sounds too easy and we know what that means.  We’ve been told that if it sounds too good to be true, then it’s probably not true…  This busienss is an exception to that rule.  The FACT is you are valuable and we can help you Get Your Fair Share of that value.  It does not matter if you are an average person or a Rock Star, you have value and we are making it our mission to see that you GET YOUR FAIR SHARE of an $11 BILLION DOLLARY A YEAR INDUSTRY!
